Private Series
By: Kate Brain
Summary: (To the first book in the series) Tradition, Honor, Excellence...and secrets so dark they're almost invisible
Fifteen-year-old Reed Brennan wins a scholarship to Easton Academy -- the golden ticket away from her pill-popping mother and run-of-the-mill suburban life. But when she arrives on the beautiful, tradition-steeped campus of Easton, everyone is just a bit more sophisticated, a bit more gorgeous, and a lot wealthier than she ever thought possible. Reed realizes that even though she has been accepted to Easton, Easton has not accepted her. She feels like she's on the outside, looking in.
Until she meets the Billings Girls.
They are the most beautiful, intelligent, and intensely confident girls on campus. And they know it. They hold all the power in a world where power is fleeting but means everything. Reed vows to do whatever it takes to be accepted into their inner circle.
Reed uses every part of herself -- the good, the bad, the beautiful -- to get closer to the Billings Girls. She quickly discovers that inside their secret parties and mountains of attitude, hanging in their designer clothing-packed closets the Billings Girls have skeletons. And they'll do anything to keep their secrets private.
Thoughts: I was about to start writing a review on the newest book in the Private series, Vanished. Then I realized it would be impossible to do because it would give away way to many spoilers, so I decided to write a review on the whole series. It starts out with book one, Private that came out in July 2006. Since then a new book has came out every few months, the newest one being Vanished which just came out in August.
The books are filled with romance, drama, and mystery. Each book is kept me hanging on every word, and every book also left be hanging at the end. It’s a never-ending cycle. Pick up the book, don’t put it down until it’s finished and then wait not-so –patiently for the next in the series. I love seeing Reed grow throughout the series, it’s also really nice to get to be with these characters for so long. I’ve grown to love them and I hope Kate Brain is nowhere near ending it.
If you’re a fan of murder mysteries, boarding schools, and romance. This series is for you. It’s a mix of Gossip Girl and …well I’m not sure. Private is in it’s own category, and I think it’s starting to take a fantasy twist. The newst prequel is called “Book of Spells” and it’s about witches. I can’t wait to see where that leads.
In conclusion of my rambling, GO READ Private! You won’t regret it, I promise.

p.s. I didn’t have time to proof read this cause I really wanted to post something, I just got back from my homecoming game and I have a band competition tomorrow. It's going to be a loooong weekend. I hope there isn’t to many mistakes. If there is I’ll fix them later. Sorry.
